A brief biography of Thomas Lingner and The Able Lens:

Thomas Lingner graduated from Beloit College with a B.A. in French in 1988. While attending Beloit he created and curated an art gallery on campus, co-edited the Avatar, Beloit's annual art publication, worked as a photographer for the Art Department, and was a teaching assistant in photography classes.

Out of college, he worked in professional photographic labs, first in Philadelphia, then in Somerville, MA. In 1990, he began working with the architectural photographer Peter Vanderwarker. Working first as an assistant and lab manager, and then as a photographer, he remained with Vanderwarker Photographs for eleven years.

In July of 2001, Tom started his own company, The Able Lens. His business has grown steadily, and his clients now include architects, museums, designers, builders and private individuals.
